How To Remove And Re-add Product Key In Microsoft Office 2013 And Office 365

Step 1: Open the Command Prompt:

Open a command prompt windows as Administrator to allow full access. On Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 you can use the key combination Windows key + X to open the left pop-up, where you can find the COMMAND PROMPT ADMIN.



Now you should move to the office directory.
On a 64-bit version of Windows:
If you have installed 64 bit version of Office then use the following command to move to the folder: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15
If you have installed 32-bit version of Office then use the following command to move to the folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15

On a 32-bit version of Windows:
Use the following command to move to the corresponding Office folder.
Command to be used: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15

Step 2: View the current license(s):

After navigating to the corresponding Office folder, type the following command to display the license that is installed. If you have tried activating the Office suite many times with different keys it displays the list of keys used.

NOTE: ONLY LAST FIVE CHARACTERS OF THE KEYS ARE DISPLAYED.
Command to be used: cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus

Step 3: Remove the license key(s):

Note the last five characters of the keys displayed and use the following command to remove the key(s) you wish.
Command to be used: cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:<last five characters of product key>

Step 4: Restart the PC:

Once you have completed uninstalling the keys, close all the command prompt windows and restart your PC.

Step 5: Install a new product key:

After restarting the PC, open any one of the Office applications (e.g: Word) and now, you will be prompted by the Office application to re-activate your product by signing in with your registered account or entering a new key instead. You can do anyone of the above to activate your product.
